Delivered at home in a purpose-built space, my saxophone lessons welcome beginners to advanced players aged 8 to 60+.
With 25 years of playing experience, 13 years of teaching, and qualified teacher training, I’ve taught in primary and secondary schools, adult classes and group settings, so lessons are professional, friendly and effective.
Sessions are always full of music and tailored to what you enjoy! We can work through your chosen repertoire or explore pieces and exercises I recommend. Whether you want to learn the basics, build technique, improvise, or prepare for exams and performances, lessons are structured around your goals and musical tastes.
Teaching and playing music is my absolute joy and passion.
Qualified secondary teacher with formal teaching credentials
Practical, supportive approach tailored to each student

I also teach and play flute and clarinet, having performed on both instruments in wind bands and worked with the local music service alongside my saxophone teaching. Woodwind instruments are by far the most fun to learn because they’re wonderfully versatile; they suit everything from gentle chamber music to orchestras, huge solos and pop music - we’ve all seen Lizzo tearing it up on the flute! I’ve been teaching flute and clarinet for nine years, so whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, I can’t wait to hear you play!
